Running for CRIS Cancer Foundation
This October, we'll be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of the CRIS Cancer Foundation, a cause that is incredibly important to both of us.
For Stephanie, this race feels a bit like my personal Everest. The last time I completed a half marathon was four years ago, and this year I haven't run more than a 10km. The thought of 21.1km is equal parts exciting and terrifying, but that's exactly why I'm doing it. Sometimes the most worthwhile challenges are the ones that push us furthest outside our comfort zone.
For Pierre-Fred, the challenge is different but just as personal. After two ACL and meniscus surgeries, his goal is to prove to himself that he can not only get back to where he was before, but perhaps even beat his personal best.
As meaningful as these personal goals are, this run is about something much bigger than either of us.
Cancer has touched the lives of family members and close friends, as it has for so many people. Over the years we have seen first-hand the impact it can have on individuals and the people who love them. That's why we've been supporting the CRIS Cancer Foundation for almost ten years. Since the creation of the Foundation in 2011 (this year marks their 15th anniversary), their work funding innovative cancer research gives hope to patients and families and helps bring us closer to more effective treatments and ultimately a cure.
Every kilometer we run is for those who have faced cancer, those currently fighting it, and those working tirelessly to change its future.
If you'd like to support us, any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference and help fund life-changing cancer research.
Thank you for your generosity, encouragement and support. We'll definitely be thinking of it when the kilometers start getting tough!
