Running For Rabbits - Great North Run 2025

Stephanie Gale is raising money for Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue

Great North Run 2025 · 7 September 2025 ·

Our mission is to promote humane behaviour towards rabbits by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and re-homing for rabbits who are in need of care and to educate the public in matters pertaining to rabbit care and welfare and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among rabbits.

Story

As most of you know, I'm incredibly passionate about rabbits and improving their welfare. Despite being the UK's 3rd more popular pet, they're also the most neglected.

Rabbits needs are so often misunderstood, the majority live out their days alone, confined to small, outdated hutches and cages, never knowing the freedom to run and explore. That’s why, on 7th September 2025, I will be running for the rabbits who can't.

Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue works tirelessly to provide shelter, space, medical care, and companionship to the rabbits fortunate enough to make it into rescue. Through their efforts, these amazing animals are given a second chance at life. Your donation will allow Ivy Dene to continue their work, rescuing, rehabilitating and advocating for rabbits. Being a voice for the voiceless.

I'm no runner by any stretch of the imagination and up until this point I've never ran more than 5km, so the Great North Run will be a big challenge to say the least!

Please consider donating and join me in making a lasting impact on the lives of these precious souls.
