Story
I’m lacing up my running shoes to take on my first Road Race having only ever done Tough Mudders and Spartan Races. This is in aid of the National Autistic Society – the UK’s leading charity supporting autistic people and their families.
This run is deeply personal. My wonderful son was diagnosed at a young age with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Global Developmental Delay (GDD).
He struggles with everyday life and with his speech and language however watching him grow and accomplish things we never thought he could is what gives me the motivation to take on challenges such as this.
By pounding the pavement for 13.1 miles, I’m raising vital funds to help the National Autistic Society continue their amazing work: providing support, advice, education, and campaigning for a society that truly works for autistic individuals. Your donation – no matter how small – will make a real difference in creating better understanding, services, and opportunities for people like my son.
Thank you for any support given.
