Story
Some people may know that I lost my Dad to lung cancer in 2019. He had suffered on and off with cancer for almost 19 years having two operations in that time removing one of his lungs. This combined with COPD left him at times rather poorly with multiple visits to hospital. However this never stopped him from his role as father and grandfather and always helped where he could. On his final visit to hospital we all hoped as before he would be returning home but soon realised this was not to be. He never gave up even though the treatment this time was not working and when told we realised that he'd made his peace and was ready to go. With a nod and a thumbs up he had his last cuppa and gently slipped away. I will never forget the day and mostly never forget his can do attitude which is why I will always try to help raise both awareness and sponsorship for this cause. Sadly later that year my Mother-in-law also lost a short battle with the same disease. So taking on the great North run as a couple this year to try and raise more awareness and needed donations. So, if you can spare anything at all it would be most grateful 🙏.
