Story

In 2022, I went through a separation which affected me more than I ever thought possible. I was lucky enough to have someone close to me point me in the direction of Kelly’s Heroes. As someone who had never suffered with their mental health before, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

The help and support that followed was incredible. I completed 9 months of counselling which enabled me to navigate this new stage of my life. That year I joined The Loneliest Road bike ride – the European Leg. The people that I met through the Charity were all amazing, all with their own individual stories and experiences with mental health.

Since being introduced to the charity, not only have I received support, but two of my children have also been supported. I must admit that my mental health was never something that I expected to struggle with, which shows that anyone can be affected.

I am grateful for the opportunity to give back and try to raise as much money and awareness as possible for this fantastic charity. Please donate if you can.

Thank-you for taking the time to read my Just Giving page.

Feeling "at Rock Bottom" describes a state of extreme despair and hopelessness, a point where one feels completely defeated and unable to see a way forward. It's often characterized by feelings of hopelessness, isolation, and a sense of being overwhelmed by circumstances. This feeling can be triggered by various life events, including job loss, severe illness, or the death of a loved one, or a combination of smaller losses over time. By taking on this extremely tough challenge we hope to show support to anyone struggling and letting them know we care and we want to help and support them in whatever way we can.
