Story
Stephen and George are cycling from Lands End to Jon o’ Groats after George challenged Stephen to a father and son bonding trip. They couldn’t do this without the magnificent support of Joanne who is driving our motor home as the broom wagon, sweeping up after and before them and making sure they are fed and watered. In turn she will be supported all the way by Bertie the dog, who promises to be a great help!
Along the way the team will be joined by friends and colleagues including Luke Dix, Andy Hopper, James Fairweather and Henry Adelston who will provide some much needed changes of conversation and words of encouragement as the father and son relationship is tested over 13 days in the saddle!
We aim to have fun but at the same time raise some much needed funds for a wonderful charity which is dear to all our hearts.
In October 2010 Joanne was diagnosed with breast cancer. She received magnificent support throughout her illness recovery and beyond from the team at Penny Brohn UK. They support anyone affected by cancer in truly amazing ways and Joanne was no exception.
Their holistic approach to helping people live well with cancer - The Bristol Whole Life Approach - gives anyone affected by cancer the practical, emotional and social support they need to improve their quality of life and to manage the fear and uncertainty that a cancer diagnosis may bring.
Stephen is proud to have been a member of the board of trustees of Penny Brohn UK for since 2011 and to have chair of the board since 2020. As with all trustees the position is voluntary.
With your support the team at Penny Brohn UK can provide more life changing support to people like Joanne who need their help the most.
So please dig deep and make a donation. The more sponsorship we receive the more we will be motivated to complete what is going to be a very testing challenge. Over 1000 miles of cycling/driving/woofing is going to test the resilience of us all.
Thank you very much!
Stephen, Joanne, George and Bertie!
