In March 2022, our friend Mike passed away suddenly. After learning there was very little by way of local support groups for both her and her 4 year old son, Mike's wife Helen set up a charity to support bereaved children and their families by creating a safe space to meet one another, share experiences and build friendships. https://www.brighteststars.co.uk/

Having talked about running a half marathon for a few years now and being undone by COVID lockdowns and injuries, I will be running the St Albans Half Marathon on 11th of June, raising money for Brightest Stars, which has already supported dozens of children and their families in Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire over the last year with face to face meetings, counselling and days out.

If you can spare any funds, I would really appreciate any sponsorship as I battle the hills of St Albans with my increasingly dodgy ankles I've discovered during training!
