Story
As an ex-service user, I can tell you firsthand that the work Roundabout does is invaluable. Not only did they give me a safe place to live when I was a homeless young person, but they also taught me the vital life skills I needed to move on successfully. In fact, the very first time I ever stepped foot in a gym was with Roundabout, and today, I'm a personal trainer and fitness instructor.
I can honestly say I would not be where I am today without their support and encouragement.
A couple of years after moving on, I returned to Roundabout as a support worker in the very same hostel I once lived in, using my own lived experience to support other homeless young people. Working on the front line showed me the true scale of youth homelessness, and just how crucial Roundabout's work is.
In 2027, I’ll be taking part in 50 Faces of Roundabout, sharing my story: a journey from a homeless teenage drug addict to a qualified personal trainer. It is a journey that was only made possible by Roundabout.
Please donate whatever you can. Together, we can change lives. 🙏
Roundabout is committed to ending youth homelessness in South Yorkshire. They work with over 380 young people aged 16 - 25 every day who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
