Having had a challenging 2024 with both bladder and prostate cancer (current status - pretty good), I wanted to do something healthy and moderately challenging to fundraise for Prostate Cancer UK, so here it is. But before I get into the details just a few words to the amazing people at the NHS. Doctors, surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, radiographers, admin and ancillary staff and the volunteers - you were all wonderful.

During the remainder of 2025 I am going to visit and climb (walk / stroll / stumble up) the highest points of all the English Counties (using pre 1974 boundary changes partly to avoid climbing the stairs of city conurbation buildings and partly to include Helvellyn in Westmoreland and Coniston Old Man in Lancashire). There are 43 of these and the hummocks, hills and mountains range from 80m, the aptly named Boring Field in Huntingdonshire to Scafell Pike at 980m in Cumberland.

The great thing is I'll be able to visit loads of parts of England that I've only been to fleetingly, book into the odd pub and perhaps enjoy the odd pint after success

fully summiting the peak.

It would be fantastic to meet with friends from some of those counties or that have an affinity to those counties ( I have list so watch out!) and perhaps fellow cancer people who fancy a day out and a chat.
