Richmond Marathon 2025 · 14 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Our fundraisers are taking a running challenge to help local older people. They will be running either 10K, Half Marathon or a Marathon on March or September 2025 to raise much needed funds for Age UK Richmond.

Story

I am running the marathon in this year's Richmond RUNFEST on 14 September. My place in the race is a charity entry supporting Age UK Richmond, a local independent charity offering vital help and support to local older people; they provide a wide range of services to people in later life. They define this as "anyone over the age of 55", which I have to admit now includes me... Anyway, please donate to my campaign and support this worthy cause.

This photo is of me earlier this year, visiting our friend/my running coach, Chris Weiss, in Munich. Chris specialises in peak performance training for international level runners, cyclists and triathletes. After my husband Bart got fed up with me doing random long runs over random distances, he asked Chris to help me train properly. Under Chris's expert tuition, my goal for this marathon is 3:15. I got 3:54 in Paris 18 months ago (that's the other photo) so hopefully it all works out ok on the day!
