Story
Daniel my son was the start of the Pram pushes in 1998 when I first put him in the pram and collected for C.I.N. at only 8 months old .
We lost Dan to cancer last November aged 26 . So these pushes are going to be a difficult ones to do .
27 years later the Pushes now have raised over £108,000 . Thank You !!
There's lots of pictures of Daniel in my gallery . Please have a look at them to put a face to his name .
Knowing that some of the money goes towards cancer support as well as many other good causes , the Pram Pushes will continue in his memory .
I started collecting for Children In Need 35 years ago wearing a deep sea divers outfit and collecting around places where I worked carrying a treasure chest for Pudsey . With a street permit I was also able to collect on the streets of Leeds for 14 years in the diving gear . I moved into the St Johns centre for 9 years till they stopped charities fundraising in the centre.
The ringway walk around Bradford ( 32 miles ) , and , Blackpool to Scarborough ( on a push bike ) are other events I have been involved in for C.I.N.
Daniel wasn't even 1 before he was put in the pram , and , with the help of my Dad , Alan , we pushed him back to Leeds . My Dad helped with the pushes till he was 81 .
27years later with over 600 miles on the same Mothercare pram or to put it another way over 1 million steps , its time to get ready again and raise some more funds .
I catch the bus into Leeds then the train to Ilkley before heading back to Leeds .
The two pram pushes follow different routes .
The first one on November 8th goes into Otley and then up the chevin and through Headingley back to Leeds .
the second one on Children In Need day ( November14th ) goes back via Burley in Wharfdale , Guiseley ,Horsforth and into Leeds .
With a running grand total over the 34 years of over £140,000 , I hope to do Dan proud this year .
This year I'm not alone doing the pram pushes . One of Danny's many friends Adam is coming along to pram push with me on the 8th . A good work colleague Simon will be with me on the second one on the 14th .
Last year I raised £7,127.54 . I hope to beat that figure this year in memory of Daniel 🤞🤞🤞
I believe that C.I.N. really does help disadvantaged children in the U.K. and I am proud to have be a fundraiser for them for many many years and hopefully many more to come .
If your able please help out for this great cause . And if possible gift aid your donation .
Thank you for your support
Stephen
