Story
When I signed up to the London to Brighton Bike Ride 2023 event back in November, my goal was to cycle further than I’ve ever cycled before (54 miles/87km) whilst raising some money for a good cause. I picked the British Heart Foundation, as they really helped out my parents who needed to hire some mobility equipment (wheelchair, crutches and rails) for my Dad who was recovering from his foot and knee surgeries.
But then in December, my Mum went into hospital with heart failure. After a heart valve replacement, a stroke and 2 months in hospital my brave Mum is back at home recovering. The charity I turned to was the British Heart Foundation for more information and support, which I’m forever grateful for.
I’m now motivated more than ever to complete this bike ride, spread awareness of heart health and the work of the BHF!
