Diamond Fitness members take on Edinburgh’s Seven Hills and North Berwick Law for local mental health charity

East Lothian fitness business marks 10 years at Fenton Barns this December with fundraising challenge for North Berwick charity Stepping Out

A group of members from East Lothian fitness business Diamond Fitness are taking on a demanding challenge to raise money for local mental health charity Stepping Out, as the business celebrates 10 years at its Fenton Barns premises.

The group will conquer Edinburgh’s Seven Hills before taking on North Berwick Law, combining a challenging day of walking with a fundraising effort for a cause close to the heart of the Diamond Fitness team and its members.

Diamond Fitness, which has premises in both Leith and Fenton Barns, is using the milestone to give something back to the local community.

The Fenton Barns gym has been part of the East Lothian community for a decade, while owner Jamie Kirk has strong local roots, having grown up in East Lothian and attended North Berwick High School.

All money raised from the challenge will be donated to Stepping Out, a North Berwick-based charity supporting people with their mental health.

Jamie Kirk, owner of Diamond Fitness, said:

“Reaching 10 years at Fenton Barns is a really significant milestone for us. East Lothian is home for me, and I wanted to mark the occasion in a way that gave something back to the community that has supported Diamond Fitness over the years.

“The idea of taking on the Seven Hills of Edinburgh and North Berwick Law felt like a great fit for our members — it’s going to be a real challenge, but it’s also something we can do together. Most importantly, we’re delighted that the money raised will go to Stepping Out and support the fantastic work they do around mental health in North Berwick and the wider community.”

The Diamond Fitness team is inviting friends, family, members and the wider local community to support the challenge and help them raise as much as possible for Stepping Out.

The challenge will take place on Sunday the 6th of December in the early early hours of the working, between 7 and 8am, with the group tackling the Seven Hills of Edinburgh before completing the final climb of North Berwick Law.

Diamond Fitness is an independent fitness business with locations in Leith and Fenton Barns, East Lothian.

The Fenton Barns location celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026.
