Story
Why We’re Taking on This Challenge
In October 2025, we sisters, Dayanna (13) and Kashwi (14), will be setting out on the adventure of a lifetime: trekking to Everest Base Camp with our dads.
The Challenge
Trekking to Everest Base Camp in Nepal is no ordinary adventure. It is a gruelling 120 km journey across 12–14 days, climbing to altitudes of over 5,000 metres where the air is thin, the weather is unpredictable, and every step demands courage and determination. For two teenage sisters, it means facing cold, fatigue, and altitude head-on — pushing far beyond our comfort zones. This challenge will test our bodies and minds in ways we’ve never experienced before, and that’s exactly why we’re doing it: not just for ourselves, but as a powerful way to raise awareness and funds for the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children).
Why NSPCC
This journey is not just about reaching the Base Camp or enjoying the breathtaking views. It’s about something far bigger: our belief that every child deserves to grow up feeling safe, supported, and loved. Sadly, that isn’t the reality for every child or family. That’s why we are fundraising for the NSPCC, a charity that works tirelessly to protect children and give them hope for brighter futures.
For Dayanna, this cause is deeply personal. The NSPCC’s programme “Letting the Future In” provided support in her younger years, which was a very difficult time. They gave her & the family strength and helped her rebuild her confidence.
The NSPCC helped me and my family through some difficult times. I want other children and families to have that same chance of support and hope. – Dayanna (13)
For Kashwi, this trek is her way of giving back — ensuring that more children and families receive the same life-changing support . Walking this path together with her sister reflects courage, resilience, kindness, the power of family and real world opportunity to inspire others.
I’m proud to raise money for NSPCC so they can help other children, just like they supported Dayanna. Walking together, we want to raise awareness and make a real difference. – Kashwi (14)
Our Mission
Together, we want to give back so more children and families can find the same support and hope. We’ve seen the difference this makes — and it has inspired us to take on this challenge.
How You Can Help
Our goal is to raise at least £30,000, but we are aiming even higher - with the hope of reaching beyond £50,000 with your help. Every pound raised will go directly to helping the NSPCC continue their vital work with children and families across the UK.
Every step we take towards Everest Base Camp will be for children and families who need to know they are not alone. With your support, we can reach our fundraising goal just as surely as we’ll reach the mountain’s destination.
Follow our ongoing journey on TikTok, Instagram, and X: — where we’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes training, and our trek highlights.
Please donate if you can and share our page to spread the word. Together, we can give more children and families the safe and happy future they deserve.
