Steve Messer is raising money for Crisis

Saucony London 10k 2026 · 12 July 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Take on the most iconic 10k in the capital. Live bands, DJs and cheering fans will power you through the route, which takes in some of London’s most famous landmarks — including Westminster Bridge, The London Eye, and Big Ben.

Story

I’m running two races (and possibly a third) this year to help raise money for people experiencing homelessness. I’ll be running:

- the Manchester marathon in April (aiming for 3h30m) , and

- the London 10K in July (aiming for 42m).

All of us need a decent home. Currently, this basic human need isn’t being met for so many people across the UK. This is an awful situation to be in for thousands of people across the land.

Crisis works side by side with thousands of people each year as they find ways out of homelessness. Crisis provides practical support to help people access benefits, healthcare services, employment opportunities, and more.

Please give generously. Here’s what your donation can mean for someone experiencing homelessness:

- £8 can help give someone essential items like toiletries and underwear – small things that help bring dignity

- £10 can help someone move into a safe and stable home

- £20 can help towards monthly gas or electricity costs for someone setting up their new home or struggling to make their bills

- £30 could help give someone an hour of one-to-one support with a lead worker, building their confidence and skills to find and keep a home or job

- £45 could help someone settle into their new home with essentials like mugs, pans, cutlery and bedding – the small things that make a house a home

- £70 could help provide someone with warm clothing for winter or an outfit for a job interview, giving them comfort and confidence to start again

- £100 could help someone find their way back into work, from training and coaching to finding and securing a job, giving them the confidence to rebuild their life
