Story
Greetings All,
I've started this JustGiving page to help try and raise some awareness and funds for CALM, a suicide prevention charity who work tirelessly to provide life-saving services and practical mental health support to anyone feeling at they're lowest ebb.
125 people a week take their own lives in the UK. How many could have been avoided with the right help and support? CALM are here to do just that.
Having known someone who took their own life, I have seen the devastation and heartache it brings to family and friends. So, when the opportunity presented itself to raise much needed funds for CALM, I couldnt let it pass me by.
So, what better way for this chubby 55 y/o to help raise awareness and well deserved funds (and massively step out of my own comfort zone) than by taking on a 30km hike across the Chiltern Hills >gulp!<
I'm quickly realising this will be no walk in the park but a deals a deal and I'm determined to smash the challenge...and not just for my own attainment but for the 125 people a week who need saving.
Whatever you donate will make a big difference. No matter the amount you can spare, you have my sincere gratitude and respect.
