Story
After months of what we thought was a cough, my wife Katie was diagnosed with stage 4 non cell lung cancer in September 2024.
Unfortunately it is not curable.
Katie is a remarkable and inspiring individual, with the most amazing strength and resilience in the face of her diagnosis of stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer.
Despite the immense challenges she faces, her courage and determination shine brightly, touching the lives of everyone around her. Her journey serves as a testament to her unwavering spirit and her ability to find hope and meaning even in the most difficult times.
In her honour, I am undertaking the "Chase the Sun Italy" challenge in June 2025—a demanding coast-to-coast cycle ride across Italy from east to west and a 175 miles with 11,000ft of climbing in one day.
Sunrise to sunset.
This effort is not only a physical and mental challenge for me, but also a heartfelt tribute to Katie's journey and a way to support Rowcroft Hospice, a vital organisation providing compassionate care to those in need.
Through my fundraising and dedication, I am not only honouring Katie but also raising awareness and support for others facing similar battles.
I love Katie with all I have and am committed, and determined to make a difference in her name, showing the power of community and shared purpose in the face of adversity.
We will not be beaten!
