It has been a privilege for me to be a listening volunteer at both Bath and Plymouth branches of Samaritans for a total of 28 years. It has given me far more than I have given it.

The Sahara Challenge, with fellow volunteers from the SW Region, involves hiking 100k in a week in Nov 26 and I am self funding the trip. It is a great opportunity to raise money for Plymouth Branch which currently costs around 30k a year to maintain as well as recruiting and traininģ new volunteers to support around 1600 contacts we receive each month.
