The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.

The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.

Though I have no direct connection to a child or young person who has been affected by the above, I lost my mother to a virulent strain of cancer when I was a teenager, and this affected me adversely as a youth.

When Covid struck in 2020, I shaved my own hair off and begun to grow this back, though at the time, the idea of putting it to better use did not dawn on me. This year, I had the idea of donating my hair to the LPT, and it was suggested that I could, perhaps, embark on a trek with a view to raising money, as well as donating my hair.

The final decision is to cut off my hair this year, and to donate it to the LPT first (it is not grey yet!), and then to trek to Everest Base Camp in 2025 to raise money for the same charity, the interim period to be put to good use by (again) growing my hair to donate (again) upon my return from Nepal.
