🏃♂️ Great North Run 2026 - My First Half Marathon! 🏃♂️
On 13 September 2026, I'll be taking on the Great North Run and, perhaps slightly madly, it will be my very first half marathon!
The good news is that training has been going really well so far, and I'm actually starting to believe I can do it! As I'm getting older, I've realised how important it is to keep challenging ourselves, setting new goals, and proving that we're capable of more than we sometimes think.
I'm running in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK), a fantastic charity that helps the 110,000 people across the UK living with muscle-wasting conditions. These conditions currently have no cure and can have a huge impact on the lives of those affected and their families. MDUK funds vital research into treatments and cures while also providing much-needed support and advice.
I've set myself a fundraising target of £350, and I'd love your help in getting there. I know the cost of living is affecting everyone at the moment, so please don't feel any pressure. But if you happen to have a spare £5 (or more!), I'd be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, will help make a real difference.
So, while I'll be putting my legs through 13.1 miles of Newcastle's finest roads, hopefully together we can do something positive for people living with muscle-wasting conditions.
Thank you for reading, for your support, and for helping me reach my target. Every pound donated gets me one step closer to the finish line and helps MDUK continue their amazing work
