2023 Challenges

Hospice in the Weald provides compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all patients, and those important to them, in West Kent and East Sussex. As a local charity not part of the NHS we need to raise £9m each year to ensure our services can continue.

Story

In 2023 I've signed up to a few challenges to help raise money for the Hospice in the Weald (Pembury), who have supported a number of my friends & families over the years.

⭐ RideLondon 100 (28 May), 100 mile 🚲 - Done, 4hrs 55mins

⭐ Dragon Ride (18 June), 180 miles & 15,000ft 🚲

⭐ Lisbon Marathon (8 October), 26.2m 🏃‍♂️

My personal connection with his the Hospice in the Weald is because in February 2008 my cousin Richard, shortly after his 14th birthday, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He defied the odds and the medical experts for more than 5 years before finding peace at just 19yrs old, in August 2013.

Richard was cared for at the end of his time by the Hospice. I am raising money to help them continue to support individuals & families the way they did for Richard and my family.

I was also incredibly proud to be asked to be the Hospice's Challenge Events Ambassador in 2021.
