Finding Myself in The Lost City
A Himalayan Expedition for Mental Health Awareness
Next year, I’ll be setting out on a 23-day expedition across Nepal, trekking through the Gokyo Valley, Everest Base Camp, and summiting both Lobuche East and Island Peak, each reaching over 6,000 metres.
It will be the toughest challenge I’ve ever faced, not just physically but mentally.
Like many men, I’ve faced my own battles with mental health, the kind that are easy to hide behind a smile or a busy life. In a world where men are taught to stay silent, to be strong, to “man up,” it’s easy to lose yourself. To feel invisible.
That’s why I’m proud to be doing this expedition in support of The Lost City, a charity dedicated to helping people find their way back from the darkest places of mental health. They offer real support, real understanding, and real hope.
This journey isn’t only about climbing mountains. It’s about showing that the hardest climbs aren’t always the ones you see in front of you; they’re the ones inside.
I want to raise awareness, spark conversation, and remind people, especially men, that it’s okay to struggle, it’s okay to speak, and it’s okay to ask for help.
If I can inspire even one person to reach out instead of giving up, every step will be worth it.
