Story
Please support me as I take part in the 10 in 10 Challenge in June, raising money for life-changing MS research.
My wife Ruth has had MS for over 30 years.
Over the last 15 years her condition has deteriorated and she has now got secondary progressive MS.
Eight years ago she finally had to concede that she couldn't continue working as a primary school teacher. However, not one to just give up, she trained with the Samaritans and volunteered as a Samaritan taking phone calls, and responding to emails and texts. Unfortunately she had to give this up three years ago.
Ruth loves the Lakes, and before MS had done most of the classics (Scafell Pike, Striding Edge, Sharp Edge etc) - mostly in winter! In September 2023 I gave up work to look after her, and in March 2025 we finally moved to Cumbria!
On June 20th, for the fifth time, I will be taking part in what's known as the 10 in 10. Ten lakeland peaks in 10 hours. 17 miles and 2100m of ascent (like going up and down Ben Nevis one and a half times).
Please help me raise as much money as possible for the MS Society, so that research can continue to hopefully find a cure for this debilitating and life changing disease.
Thank you
