A SNIP FOR STEVE!
It is coming up to the year's anniversary of Dad passing away and as I promised last year, I said I would cut off my hair to raise money for the hospice.
I have been growing my hair for around three years now and it has been a big part of who I am from my love for Vikings and arguable Nordic heritage!
Loved by few and hated by many, my hair has possibly been a mid-life crisis experiment.
And it's fair to say there's been a fair bit of jealousy from my less hirsute friends, due to my luscious locks and lack of grey.
This is NOT going to be a pleasurable experience, I'm not going for a walk, not enjoying jumping out of a plane or climbing a mountain.
Cutting my hair off will take away my identity and hopefully, unlike Samson, it won't cause me to lose my strength.
There will then be the ridicule of watching it grow back into a microphone until it eventually grows long again.
My hair is currently around 15 inches in length so there will be a lot to come off!
So I will be donating said hair to The Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children that have lost their hair due to cancer.
So all of that has got to be worth a couple of quid, right?
I know times are hard and money is tight, so I've set the target of £500 which I think is quite a reasonable feat.
If I can raise more then that will be fantastic, so please consider this devastating when donating!
If you have got this far, thanks for reading!
DAD'S STORY
On September 11th 2024 we sadly lost our Dad to cancer, after a long term battle.
He fought to the very last breath and passed away peacefully at the Countess of Brecknock Hospice in Andover.
Steve was a wonderful man, kind, generous, caring and loved by all.
He went out of his way to help people and never expected thanks, and would do anything for anyone.
The hospice and the staff were incredible in making his last days peaceful and comfortable.
Whilst it was a very sad time, our family could not have asked for anymore from them.
We have already provided a sum of money from Dad's funeral donations, however now is the time for a little bit more.
Mum still goes to group sessions and it has helped her through the grieving process, they are such kind and wonderful humans.
