Story
My mum had a tough childhood; after living rough on the streets, she was taken into care, moving between children’s homes and foster homes. She left us when I was 2 and I didn’t see her again until I was 15. While we did get to spend some time together, she led a troubled life and sadly passed away suddenly in in 2014.
When we started Aiimi, I wanted it to be a company where people could come and be themselves. To have ‘no fear’ of being open about struggles in their lives, whether that be their own mental health or wider issues that affected their family. I hoped that one day, we'd able to give something back as a collective, to help vulnerable people out there like my mum.
When we moved to Milton Keynes, we learned that the city had one of the highest levels of homelessness in young people, which led us to partnering with YMCA.
This year, I wanted to get involved personally and do something that would make a difference. I’m excited to take on the Alpine three peaks challenge with the Aiimi team and would really appreciate any donation you can give to support the YMCA, and their mission to transform young peoples lives that so desperately need their help.
