My Journey: From Diagnosis to Giving Back

In November 2023 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer which put me in a very dark place and facing a future that felt uncertain and frightening.

Following successful surgery and a grueling three-month course of chemotherapy, I am grateful to say that the signs moving forward are extremely positive.

Finding the Light at Maggie’s

From the outset of my journey I came across Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre at Charing Cross. Meeting Sinead Cope and her team changed my perspective entirely. They provided the empathy, professionalism, and community I needed to navigate the hardest months of my life.

From attending support groups to having a quiet place to chat with people who truly "get it," Maggie’s offered me something you simply cannot put a price on: Hope.
