Cancer Research UK leads pioneering research into cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, aiming to ensure 3 in 4 patients survive by 2034. Over 400,000 people are diagnosed with cancer yearly in the UK—about 1,000 daily—and nearly half born in 1961 will face cancer in their lifetime. With almost 3.5 million currently living with cancer, the charity’s work is vital to countless families. Their efforts have already doubled survival rates, supporting millions affected by the disease. By funding scientists, doctors, and nurses across the UK, Cancer Research UK helps shape policies and provides essential information, offering hope and improved outcomes for patients and their loved ones.
We are proud to announce an inspiring challenge to support our very own Captain, Mark Davies, at Kings Norton Golf Club. On Monday, 30th June 2025, Mark, Richard Toy, Steve Turrell, Neil Burden, John Brockbank, and Murray Tonry will take on an extraordinary feat: completing a 72-hole golf challenge right here on our beloved course.
This incredible journey will see the team playing in two groups of three, tackling two gruelling 27-hole rounds covering all three loops of our Championship course, followed by an 18-hole finish. It’s a true test of endurance, skill, and spirit — all for a cause close to our hearts.
The purpose behind this monumental effort is to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK, an organisation tirelessly working to save lives through groundbreaking research and support for those affected by cancer.
We invite you to join us in supporting Mark and the team by donating generously. Every penny raised will contribute directly to vital cancer research, bringing hope to millions and helping to create a future where cancer can be prevented, treated, and ultimately cured.
Your support means the world to us and to those fighting cancer every day. Together, we can make a real difference.
