Another go at the London Marathon for Steve and Zoe!
This is quite long...but well worth the read!...
Sunday 26th April (almost a year to the day that Steve had his Stem Cell/Bone Marrow transplant!) - aiming to raise as much money as possible for Blood Cancer Uk and The Hub Yeovil (a local Charity who work with adults with learning disabilities & autism - a cause very close to Steve's heart) ❤️
The London Marathon is going to be a big ask, as Steve hasn't been able to run, due to his health, for the past 4 years! But he started training again 2 weeks ago 🎉
Most of you know that Steve was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Follicular Lymphoma in December 2014.
He's had multiple courses of chemotherapy over the years...but last year he faced his toughest battle with his cancer yet 😬
Dozens of blood tests, a biopsy, scans, gruelling intensive chemo and a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, which involved 2 days of stem cell 'harvesting', 6 months worth of chemo in just 6 days, then 2 days of putting the harvested stem cells back in...he spent weeks in hospital confined to an air filtered room, with minimal contact with the outside world, got sepsis, his white blood cells/immunity were completely wiped out, he basically couldn't get any lower...
Then began the long, slow and difficult months of recovery.
Blood Cancer UK want to beat blood cancer for good, but can't get there without a lot of help from a lot of people.
So, long story short...
Please, please help us to raise as much as possible, by donating/sponsoring Steve and Zoe with as much as you can!
Let's smash the £26,000 that Steve raised in 2021, when he last ran the London Marathon - with your help we can beat that...and help beat blood cancer for good too! 🎉
