Story
In late April I will be running the London Marathon to raise funds and awareness for those living with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
My four-year-old son was diagnosed at seven months old with two genetic conditions, which when combined are very rare. One has caused multiple tumours on his brain along with cysts & AMLs on his kidneys. The other is PKD, and to date he has attended over 150 hospital appointments across 7 different hospitals, resulting in numerous scans and countless blood tests!
He will require a transplant, likely in his teens, and by supporting the PKD charity with their research and support work we are hoping this may be extended, even by a short period, as they find new ways to treat the condition.
Running on behalf of families affected by PKD and related conditions is something I am proud to do. If you are able to support this challenge with a small sponsorship donation, it would be very much appreciated and will help support ongoing research and services.
I would also encourage you to consider organ donation as it can make a significant difference to those who depend on it.
Thank you for your support - it will make a massive difference as those last few miles really begin to hurt!
