Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a couple of years back, he discovered Our Dementia Choir, which is an excellent charity promoting singing to ease the symptoms of dementia. Set up by Vicky McClure, it has changed our lives over the past couple of years.

The choir do so many excellent events with truly inspirational people. My dad has been able to experience performing at huge festivals, was on a BBC documentary and my parents now have a large support network, which is crucial to their wellbeing.

I thought it was only fitting to give something back, to enable them to continue to do the excellent work they do. I am taking part in a number of events over the course of this year to help raise money for this amazing charity.

So last year I took on the York Half Marathon, Kielder Dark Skies Marathon. The Wall, a 110km run along Hadrian’s Wall, as well as the Scottish Coast To Coast, a 100km run, bike and kayak.

This year so far I have done a 55km ultra along the Tyne, and this weekend I’m taking on a 12hr 4.1mile loop (as many loops as possible) run around hamsterley forest in preparation for my biggest challenge to date a 100mile run from Bamburgh castle to Edinburgh castle. And to finish the year off a 55km run around the lakes in September.

Thank you in advance for all your kind donations, anything you can give would mean the world to me and my family, in support of this fantastic charity.
