Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Steve & Will are raising money for Bournemouth based Hope for Food, whose mission is to assist men, women and children in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas, who are either homeless or living in poverty.

Hope for Food provide fresh food at community meals and parcels of food, good quality clothing, bedding and household goods, where needed.

Founded in 2012 with the aim of providing life’s basic essentials to people finding themselves in need of help due to the prevailing economic climate at that time. the charity was set up and is run entirely by volunteers. Unfortunately that situation has not improved in subsequent years. The charity continues to be led and run by volunteers

As a volunteer for the charity Steve was keen to complete an event that, as well as a personal challenge, provides the opportunity to raise much needed funds for this vital organisation within the Bournemouth Community. He is pleased to be joined by son in law Will, who brings youth, fitness and determination to get us over the finish line.

We have both joined forces in a number of half marathons and also the Thames Path Ultra Challenge in the same series. We believe the Isle of Wight to be our toughest challenge to date, with a similar distance but significantly more elevation during the walk.

Our aim is to try and complete the sixty six mile route in under twenty four hours. This will mean continuous walking apart from refreshment breaks and one meal stop. We will be starting from Chale at approximately 7:30 am, walking through the day and night clockwise around the Island hoping to return to Chale early morning.

Mary Duncan, Operations Manager for the charity says "Hope for Food relies purely on donations so anything, however small, will be gratefully received. As we are all volunteers every donation allows us to support those people who come to us for help".
