Story
On Saturday 29th August, we will be remembering our friend Steven Carter, who was a huge part of the walking group and helped to steer the helm in the formative years.
This walk will be held in his honour, closely replicating the first ever walk we organised back in 2011, which was from the Barnstormers pub in Lostock to the Strawbury Duck in Edgworth, the latter still being one of our favourite venues.
Participants are collecting donations in aid of Bolton charity 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 who offer support to children, parents and adults living with autism and disabilities across the local community.
The route has been amended slightly to allow for refreshment stops and so that people of mixed abilities are able to take part in stages. Overall, we will be tackling 19km/12 miles from the Bridge Hotel in Horwich, up onto the moors calling at the Pike Snack Shack, over Winter Hill to the Black Dog at Belmont, then through the beautiful nature reserve of Longworth Clough to the Masons Arms in Egerton before a final and very easy stage through Turton to the Strawbury Duck.
