Story
We are the Bonkers Bikers - a bunch of charitably minded railway employees and affiliates that take on multi-day cycling rides whilst raising money for worthy causes. Over the last four years we have managed to raise over £120k for a range of charities, including Railway Children and Birmingham Children's Hospital.
This year the Bonkers Bikes plan to cycle over three-days from Salisbury Cathedral to the Cathédrale Saint-Gatien in Tours, France. I was all set to be joining the challenge but, due to a family illness, I now need to stay close to home. However, don't put your credit card away just yet. In the spirit of our 'Cathedrals Express' theme, I plan to join the Bonkers Bikers in spirit with a one-day 100-mile ride from Christ Church Oxford to Hereford Cathedral, via Gloucester Cathedral and Tewkesbury Abbey - a challenging route with over 1,300 metres of climbing over the Cotswolds and Herefordshire Hills. I plan to coincide my ride with the final day of the main Bonkers Bikers challenge, so we all finish together on 18 May, albeit at different cathedrals.
Please consider sponsoring me. All donations go to Birmingham Children's Hospital, an amazing charity that does so much to help and support seriously ill kids. Having seen first hand how they use their donations I can assure you that all money raised will be put to good use, help save lives, and make really difficult circumstances that little bit less scary. We are proud to have raised over £94k for BCH over the last three years and look forward to making this a six-figure sum with this ride.
Any donations of any amount will be truly appreciated.
Thank you!
