Waterloo to Waterloo · 4 May 2024

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

Over the last couple of years it's been my privilege to join an intrepid band of railway industry colleagues cycling from Coast to Coast and from London to Paris in support of Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. Our combined fundraising total for those two events was an amazing £36k, all of which has gone towards their amazing lifesaving work.

We're back again in 2024 with a new challenge, cycling from Waterloo (London) to Waterloo (Belgium) plus a little bit extra to finish-up in Brussels. Day 1 of our ride will be from London to Harwich to catch the overnight ferry. Day 2 will see us ride from Hook of Holland to Antwerp and then Day 3 will take us to Brussels via the famous battlefield site.

Please check back here for updates on our training for the event, which will take place over the bank holiday weekend 4-6 May. And please consider sponsoring us. Every penny goes to Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity as the cost of the ride itself (transport, accommodation, food, etc) is fully funded by the riders.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity believe there’s always more that can be done for sick kids and that’s why they always strive to do more for patients and families. It’s their mission to raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to all who use the hospital.

Your support empowers Birmingham Children's Hospital to take innovative approaches to treating some of the sickest children in the UK. Your donations help find new ways to treat and cure childhood diseases.
