Deafblind UK runners take on the UK's second largest marathon, alongside participants from all over the world in the vibrant streets of Greater Manchester.

Story

Hi All,

Next year on Sunday 19th April 2026 I will be running the Manchester Marathon (26.2 miles) and will be raising money for a great charity, Deafblind UK.

I first started my journey running in June 2025, completing the abbey dash 10k run in November 2025.

This is a huge commitment and challenge for me to enter into a full marathon so soon but i'm confident with the support from my family, friends, work collegues and wonderful wife I can push on through to the finish line.

The majority of people know that I have a running partner (Mr Dowd) who I do a 5k run with every morning before work. He has kindly voluntered to put a training package together to hopefully help me successfuly complete this marathon (thanks Dowdy :).

I have chosen to run the marathon and raise funds for a charity close to me called Deafblind UK. I have committed to a target of £350. If you would like to sponsor me for this event however big or small the donations are very much welcomed.

Thank you so much again for visiting my JustGiving page and donating to help Deafblind UK deliver practical and emotional support to thousands of people living with deafblindness every year.

Your support is appreciated and so important, thank you.

Steve
