Steven's story

After working closely with the Rawthey project for a number of years and seeing first hand the great success it has with helping struggling veterans regain a foothold in life, battling daily with the vast array of complex mental health issues, in particular PTSD, I have decided to challenge myself again to another long distance trek in support of Tom Harrison House (THH). This comes after previous successes of trekking the Pennine Way, Southwest Coast Path, and Appalachian Trail supporting the Rawthey Project.

The challenges I have undertaken over the last few years are my way of raising awareness and funding to help veterans recieve the treatment they need through both the Rawthey Project and Tom Harrison House.

JOG>LE.

The challenge which I intend to undertake has a total mileage 1,215 miles (1,955km), as stated in the official guidebook. The total ascent of this endeavor will be around 167,667ft (51,105 m).

This equates to almost 6 times the height of Everest!

The funds raised are for an organisation that Rawthey has formed a very close partnership with' Tom Harrison House (THH), based in Liverpool.

THH are the only Addiction and Rehabilitation organisation that is dedicated to treating Veteran and serving Veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces & Emergency Services.

This partnership has come about through an understanding that the beneficiaries which Rawthey help often suffer from the co-morbidities of addiction so raising funds to tackle that aspect of their struggles leads to a greater probability of success for the beneficiaries.
