🚗💨 HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW — THE RUST BOX RALLY! 🏁

Best mates since we were just 6 years old, we (Steve & Dan) are about to discover whether a 48-year friendship is strong enough to survive a week in a car we bought for only £450 😂

This September, we are swapping sensible modern transport for four older wheels, questionable mechanical decisions and an unhealthy amount of optimism as we take on the Rust Box Rally!

🏁 THE MISSION

Starting in England on 26th September, we will join around 30 other teams from across the UK and head off on an epic European adventure through:

🇫🇷 France

🇧🇪 Belgium

🇱🇺 Luxembourg

🇨🇭 Switzerland

🇮🇹 Italy (Stelvio Pass)

🇦🇹 Austria

🇩🇪 Germany — finishing in Munich, Coincidentally it’s the Beer festival too!

Then, assuming the car is still technically a car, we’ll point it back towards England. 🚗💨

The Rust Box Challenge is simple in theory: buy a car for under £750, preferably something old enough to remember dial-up internet, and get it to a series of pre-planned destinations while completing challenges along the way.

Simple… apparently. 😬

We will have navigation challenges, breakdowns, questionable roadside repairs and almost certainly at least one moment where someone says:

“Don't worry, it'll make it.”

Famous last words. 😂🔧

❤️ BUT THIS IS ABOUT MORE THAN JUST THE RALLY

We will be raising money for Mencap, a charity that is particularly close to both our hearts.

We are doing this in memory of Dan's late foster sister, Hayley, making the journey a very personal one for both of us.

Our team name says it all:

So while the car might lose a few bits along the way, hopefully we can help raise something far more valuable — money and awareness for Mencap.
