Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On May 30th 2026, I will be attempting to run across the country on the Hadrian’s Wall route in memory of Leo Haffner and in order to raise funds and awareness of ARC.
This will certainly be my biggest challenge to date and Leo’s mum; Jen has kindly allowed me to run in his memory and to support ARC in what they do now and in the future.
It goes without saying that no parent should ever have to go through losing their child but Jen’s story of how ARC helped her is not mine to tell, in her own heartfelt words she explained how she was supported by the charity:
“It's hard to put into words how much ARC saved me after losing my son, Leo.
Due to losing Leo at Christmastime, I realised a lot of charities/ support were closed, or only open for limited hours and I so badly needed support.
I reached out to ARC and luckily the Director; Jane emailed me and was so helpful and empathetic, she booked me in for a call and signposted me to lots of other sources of support, such as their online forum and later sourced me therapy via their Support Co-ordinator; Sally.
Jane was incredible and continued to regularly support me through many dark days and guided me out of many panic attacks, sometimes late in the evening over phone calls, emails and texts.
I don't know what I would have done without ARC in those early days, and 2 years on; I still turn to them for grief support.”
Please help with donating and supporting where you can, this is such an important charity doing the work that can often go unseen. Thank you ❤️
