On Saturday 29th June 2024 I will be taking part and hopefully completing a 111 mile race called the Warwickshire Ring Race. It starts in Coventry and goes through Tamworth-Birmingham-Solihull-Leamington Spa-Rugby before returning to Coventry.

It will be the longest race I have done to date and it will be 28+ hours on my feet, so will be mentally as well as physically draining. Over the years I have raised money for different charities, this year I'd like to raise money for Sands, the pregnancy and baby loss charity. Although I haven't personally been affected by this, many people are.

I have outlined a few things below on how Sands support bereaved families.

Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

Here is how your fundraising could support bereaved families:

£10 covers the cost of 1 family support pack for bereaved parents during the most devastating time

£300 per day provides 15 memory boxes for bereaved families, so they can provide precious memories of their baby.

£580 per day keeps the helpline open and free for every caller

£1600 per month allows bereaved families to connect and support each other in a free moderated and private online support
