Hi I'm Steve!

This year I'm going to be raising money for the Extra Mile Appeal, Countess of Chester Hospital Charitable Fund by running the Manchester Marathon, Sandstone Trail Ultra, Windermere Marathon, Lakeland Trails 55k and Chester Marathon.

While the NHS provides all essential equipment for patient care, this appeal is about going further - giving their staff more tools to go above and beyond for the patients by delivering care more efficiently. The target is to get more dedicated equipment for each ward, leading to faster diagnosis, quicker discharges, fewer delays, improved infection control and more time for patient care. Each ward has submitted its own wish list and now, they're asking the local community to join in going the extra mile for the hospital.

Over the last two years the Countess of Chester Hospital has provided both of my parents with an outstanding level of care as they've gone through their own individual cancer journeys. From diagnosis to treatment, the staff have been nothing but compassionate and supportive and I'd now like to give something back.
