Story

Sadly this year on the 7th January 2026, our beloved friend Sandy Wilson took his own life. Sandy touched many souls far and wide, the numbers at his funeral were a testament to that.

Sandy had many fitness events planned this year alongside friends. We are creating a fundraising team to still run all these events in Sandy’s memory. Along with other friends now joining in.

Things that were planned:

Hyrox Glasgow solo and doubles with James Beattie. Doubles spot now filled by Connor Evison.

Ultra marathon alongside Justin Smith, Callum Ainsworth, Rory Campbell & Craig Barr.

Edinburgh marathon festival, running the full marathon with Sandy’s bib his youngest brother Niall Wilson. Running in Relay style his older Brother Callum and sister in laws Lauren & Jocelyne. Friends running full marathon: James Beattie, Stevie Moran, Craig Byrne, Nathan McFarlane & Gordon Wilson. Half each Ryan Kelly & Scott Adam. In relay style Marc Wilson, Jamie Glancy, Jamie McDaid & Alan Erskine.

This only covered the first half of the year. Knowing Sandy he wouldn’t have stopped there. Perhaps we keep things going all year.

If I have missed anyone please reach out. If anyone wishes to be part of this and join the team in running something in Sandy’s memory please reach out.

There are 3 accounts linked to a team page. If you donate to either James Beattie, Stevie Moran or Justin Smith pages all the money will be into the one pot.
