Story
Back in March 2022 - I suffered a Heart Attack and I was lucky!
Whilst playing Golf with my friends, I became unwell, struggling to Breathe and feeling Fatigued. They stopped the round and encouraged me to get checked out - Luckily for me I ended up having the Heart Attack in the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath and not at home, which would have been much worse
I had ignored the symptoms and signals over the previous couple of months putting it down to a Virus/Covid Symptoms and being out of shape
I was unaware that actually both of my arteries were blocked due to an Inherited Heart Condition that I had got from my father who unfortunately passed away due to a cardiac arrest when he was just 34.
I was able to be treated and had 2 Angiograms where I had Stents placed to open up the arteries and given medicines to take for the rest of my life
I have always wanted to challenge myself and do the London - Brighton Bike ride as it goes through my home town every year. So 2025 will be the Year when I don my lycra and cycle with the several thousand other riders raising money for lots of great charities.
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
Thanks! Stewart
