Story
Charity fundraising event for Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital. For those of you that know and for some that might not, Grant had 2 cardiac arrests on Saturday 9th March 2024 whilst training for the Manchester marathon. He had his life saved by his running group and 2 off duty doctors. He was then taken into Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital where they operated on him with a quadruple heart bypass which saved his life. Just 1 year later Grant, Kelvin and his running club completed what he started by running his hometown marathon in Newport. We completed a challenge like this in 2024 to raise money for the hospital and we would like to do this again this year.
What we are planning between all of public services staff and students is we are going to complete 10 marathons and 100,000 press ups (Grant once managed 13,000 in 24 hours on his own). This will be completed on the treadmills (7 marathons) and the rowers (3 marathons)
