Megan and I are honoured that Abingdon Hockey Club have chosen to fundraise on our behalf this year for Ashfield Trust, part of Oxford Hospitals Charity.

Earlier this year Megan and I found out that our unborn baby wasn't going to survive. We said 'goodbye' on 21.04.23 at 15 weeks pregnant.

During this incredibly tough time we were cared for the Bereavement Midwifery Team and Fetal Medicine Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

To say thank you for their amazing support, we have asked our hockey family to hold a fundraiser in Baby's honour raising funds for others who will need the support we have been so fortunate to have.

Oxford Hospitals Charity:

The Ashfield Trust is our charitable fund that provides extra support for the Maternity Bereavement team based on Level 7 at the John Radcliffe's Maternity Centre.

The team helps to care for women and their families when they have lost a baby late in pregnancy or shortly after giving birth.

The Fund, which is part of Oxford Hospitals Charity, has helped to create bereavement suites that give families a private and appropriate space, away from other maternity wards, to grieve and create memories with their child.

Thanks to the kind generosity of our community, these rooms are equipped with cooling cots, that enable families to stay close to their baby for a little longer. Hand and foot castings are also provided, alongside memory boxes, to help families create tangible memories, that can help with the long-term grieving process.
