Story
On 18th December 2024, we had to say goodbye to my incredible mum Helen after her tough battle with ovarian cancer.
Unfortunately Mum received her diagnosis after already having the disease for a while. Ovarian cancer often goes undiagnosed for long periods of time due to the small amount of symptoms, meaning her treatment was strong to combat this once it was discovered.
Although we found some success through chemotherapy, ultimately we began to run out of options as the cancer returned each time, despite her always having a positive outlook on her situation.
Towards the end of her life my mum was admitted to St. Luke’s Hospice in Winsford, where the care she received was phenomenal.
The staff who work there are some of the most kind and attentive people me and my family have ever met, and went above and beyond with their support for us.
To try and give back as much as we can, me and my girlfriend Jasmin will be running in the Manchester Half Marathon, on 18th May to raise some money for the hospice.
Thank You
