Story
On Sunday 10th March, the St Mary’s community experienced the sudden loss of Mr Leang, our fun, supportive and dedicated Lacrosse Coach and Resident House Tutor, who tragically died while supporting the senior Lacrosse teams at the National Schools’ Lacrosse Championships .
He brought laughter and positivity to every aspect of school life. In House, he was a friend to teachers and girls alike. While on the lacrosse pitch, he stood for sportsmanship, supporting each other, and the spirit of the game above anything else. He was a breath of fresh air and will be missed beyond words by all.
Mr Leang was intending to run the Edinburgh Marathon in May to raise money for the charity ‘Young Minds’. This has inspired us to organise a ‘Collective Marathon’ during the week of Monday 25th March, in memory of Mr Leang. Everyone in the school community is invited to run/ walk/jog a 1-mile lap around school with the aim of, collectively, running as many marathons as possible – fundraising for Young Minds in his place.
Students and staff will be donating £5 each to participate in the Collective Marathon challenge, but we would also like to invite others to donate to this very worthy cause, as Mr Leang would have done, through this Just Giving page.
