St. Mary & St. Margaret Church in Stow Maries faces a significant challenge.

The Situation:

Just before Christmas 2019, the lead covering on the roof was stolen, leaving the church vulnerable to the elements and jeopardising the safety of our historic building. The result might be the loss of the building.

Our beautiful church, dating back to the 14th century, has been a spiritual haven for generations. The graves of several World War I airmen who were stationed at Stow Maries Aerodrome rest in our churchyard, a poignant reminder of sacrifice and courage.

Unfortunately, the theft of our roof cladding has left us in dire need of urgent repairs and the leaking roof continues to bring down our internal ceiling.

Our Goal:

To raise £70,000 for Roof Restoration the funds will go towards replacing the roof covering with stainless steel covering and repair the internal damage caused by the water ingress over the past few years.
