As the rail industry approaches its 200th anniversary, it's a celebration of not only the history of the railways but also of the people who built it and those who keep it running today.

This is where the RBF plays a critical role. For more than 165 years, they have been a helping hand for railway people facing difficult times. This year, in support of R200, I am asking for donations to help them continue to be there for the railway family.

Their 2024 Impact Report provides the tangible difference they make for railway people and their families facing hardship across the UK. The report highlights how donations translate into impact, including:

- £112,000 towards preventing homelessness

- £47,500 supporting children of railway families

- £6,986 for emergency food
