Stoke Prior Sports & Country Club Fundraising for HB9

Mark Goddard is raising money for HB9
We aim to do this by: • Helping to ensure that anyone from young children to adults can enjoy the life-changing benefits that come from sport • Helping people achieve their sporting dreams by supplying financial support for equipment and training, or to help kick start new clubs and teams • Providing one off payments or on-going support through scholarship style funding • Helping people who find themselves in hardship, whether through mental or physical ill health or financial difficulties, to achieve respite through sport • Paying for beneficial sporting experiences they wouldn’t otherwise have access to, for example, a trip to see their favourite team/event or a trip to Wembley/Twickenham So whether you have dreams of becoming an Olympic athlete, want to start up a Sunday morning side or would just love to watch your favourite team, HB9 can help.

Story

In 2025 Stoke Prior Sports & Country Club celebrates a significant milestone: 10 years under the management of Mark Goddard and James Maycroft.

To mark our 10th anniversary, the club will host ten special events over ten months. These celebrations will also include a year-long fundraising campaign for the Harry Bennett Foundation (HB9).

Harry’s story touched the lives of so many in our community, and we are proud to help carry on his legacy.

About the charity

Founded in memory of Harry Bennett, who tragically passed away from sepsis in 2020 at just 16 years old, the HB9 Foundation honours Harry’s passion for sports and his belief in their transformative power.

HB9 harnesses the transformative power of sport to change lives by providing financial support for equipment, training, and new clubs, as well as scholarship-style funding for individuals facing hardship due to mental, physical, or financial challenges. HB9 ensures people of all ages can enjoy sport’s benefits, whether by supporting their athletic ambitions, helping them start a team, or funding memorable experiences like attending major sporting events.

HB9 supports individuals and teams, ensuring everyone can experience the physical and mental benefits of sport.
