Hi! I have been given the chance to run the London Marathon next April for a Charity very close to my heart.

2025 marks my 10th year of volunteering for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. Those who know me well will know I've worked in Befriending Services, run Social Evenings & assist the team as an Ambassador, attending events all over promoting the fantastic work they do.

The reason I've been involved for so long is, as a volunteer, I get to see the fantastic work they do rather than just be told "we do great work"... I get to see people's journey from the day they first arrive, through CW Mind and the day they leave. I see the change and growth in that person through their time at Mind. I see how much effort and time is put into helping these people get back on track. Testament to that is how many people still attend our get-togethers after they've left the recovery centre I volunteer at, they still come back to see the staff and want to help others.

Working in Construction I know that the industry has the worst statistics of any industry. Suicide is over 3 times more likely than the national average and that equates to 2 construction workers per day. I've met numerous construction professionals whilst at Mind who had reached out and needed that help. So let us keep that conversation going and help reduce that stigma.
